Traveler's Tales August 2006
Just
a brief update here...again...I apologize for the long interlude..
It's
late August, I'm on a little road trip that's brought me through Birmingham,
speaking and doing music for a parish retreat [All Saints] at Camp McDowell,
back to Birmingham for a great service with the 5 O'clock band at the
Cathedral/Advent, on to Meridian, MS [with a drive by the town of Chunky,
MS] to St. Paul's for a concert, up to Oxford today, Grace/St. Luke's
in Memphis tomorrow and then on to a gathering for Christ Church Cathedral
from Nashville on the weekend. So a fun stretch of reconnecting with
good friends and some great conversations.

Lot's
of other news...we had a 30 year McKendree Spring reunion in May over
the Memorial Day weekend. We did a show at the wonderfully fun Beachland
Ballroom in Cleveland, OH to a packed house of old and new fans...it
was a truly great experience with many dear friends showing up and helping
make it a memorable evening. We recorded the show and there will be
a cd available..I'm slowly mixing it...have the first set done, and
working on the second. There is more info and photos on the Mckendree
Spring web site: www.mckendreespring.com.
Please have a visit.

Other
news..the band I manage, Ménage (www.themenage.com
or www.myspace.com/menage]
has been in the studio working on a new recording, which is really sounding
great.

Coming
up on the anniversary of Katrina, and all that has meant for dear friends
from along the Gulf coast and New Orleans...caught the second two acts
of the Spike Lee documentary on tv last night...which was heartbreaking
and profoundly challenging.
More
soon...
